Zero Decompression TimeTM (ZDT) Texture Compression
ZDT is a texture compression scheme that achieves a very high compression rate and virtually eliminates the transcoding step. Transcoding is the conversion of a texture format to a native GPU texture format, like DXT.
Below is an example of the original texture and the same texture compressed at a 16:1 rate in the ZDT format.
